Hi. My Dad (John Walton - L/SFX 901935)RIP served on HMS Eagle from 10-11-51 to 24-10-53, his rating was NA1/AH3 (not sure what that means. I found a old scrap book with some photo's from his time aboard along with his service records. I would be happy to scan and email to you so they can be published on this site.

I think I was at that New Years Eve party with at least one other member of the Royal Marine Band. His name was Dick (Sharky) Ward. Ray Moysey (a civvy) may also have been there with his family. We toasted the New Year several times to coincide with various time zones.

Does anyone remember spending New Year's Eve 1965 at Silversands Leave Centre, Mombasa followed by a party in one of the staff's house which went on till around 6am? You may also remember the 2 daughters - Dee and myself.

Belated birthday greetings, Jordan. Hope your old man was kind to you. Knowing him, he probably bought you a couple of bottles of Pussers Rum, in the knowledge that he would have to drink it for you
ps
All good people have April birthdays
